World Trade Center
Windows On The World Restaurant
On June 25, 2001, we visited the World Trade Center for
the first time. We dined
in the famed Windows On The World Restaurant, on the 107th floor of
the North Tower.
We found an enchanted world up there, where clouds drifted by below
the windows,
storms and birds played around the towers and people gazed in wonder
at all of New York City
spread out below. The food was exquisite, the service superb and the
entire evening was simply magical.
We said, Oh yes, we will return soon!
On
September 11, 2001 terrorists flew planes into the towers. They are
gone.
This page of photos that I took that evening are offered as a tribute
to those enchanted
towers, to the people who were lost that day, and to the heroes who labored
long at Ground Zero.
