The
Whole Family
As they hatched, the Stinkhorns began to justify their name. They were soon
relegated to the
back porch, photographed over the course of one day as they swiftly developed
and then returned to
the bark mulched path, along with the spores, which are visible on the plate
above.
Next year we should have quite a crop! They appear to be Ravenel's Stinkhorn
(Phallus ravenelii).
